Videomaking across Europe 'Kristinestad Summer Fair'
This is the project that a group from Turin - Livio, Stefano and Valentina - chose and developed with their Finnish friends in Kristinestad. The idea was to make a documentary about the Summer Fair which is the biggest event of the year in Kristinestad. Normally the town has a population of about 8.000 people but during the four days of the Fair the streets are invaded buy more than 50.000 people. Some of these are visitors from the surrounding area but a lot of them are people who have their roots and families in Kristinestad and who know live, study and work somewhere else in Finland or abroad. Thus, the Summer Fair is an event that goes beyond the mere market fair and brings together families and friends to celebrate the short Nordic Summer. The Turin group was hosted both in the beautiful country location of the Kilen open air museum and in the town of Kristinestad. |
