Where the Grass Grows is an investigation of drug abuse, an issue that affects a large number of young people in MIrafiori.

The outline of the project was presented by Daniele Consoli and MirafuoriTv troupe at the "Seen and Heard" workshop held in Dublin in March 2007.

Many young people in Mirafiori have problems at school and a lot of them, rather then working harder, try to make do with odd jobs, sometimes illegal like selling hash or marijuana. As a matter of fact, in Mirafiori it's easy to find large quantity of dope sold by local young people, and not - as usually people think - by North African or other Non EU immigrants.

These young people are common people, coming from common, law abiding and respectable families, probably migrated years ago from the South of Italy, The members of the family usually have some unpretentious job but they all share a big hope: to give a better future to their sons. Then, all of a sidden, the families realize that these sons are wasting both their youth and talents.

This idea is being developed with the Group from Tuzla guys and when they come in Turin under the Videomaking Across Europe exchange, there may be changes to the project.
